Cardiff Facts

The Romans founded Cardiff in 55AD, building a fort on the site of Cardiff Castle. Cardiff was granted its Charter of Incorporation by James 1st in 1616 and became a city in 1905. Cardiff was crowned the capital of Wales in 1955.
